Around 3,000 sports scientists are in Glasgow, Scotland, this week for the The European College of Sports Science Annual Congress
The event includes plenary sessions, masterclasses, special interest group meetings and awards
An exhibition, called SportEx, shows the latest testing and sports science equipment
The event will contibute around £5 million to the local economy
The European College of Sports Science (ECSS) welcomes 3,000 academics to the University of the West of Scotland in Glasgow from today (2 July) to Friday 5th July for its Annual Congress where delegates and speakers will share and debate research and insight relating to sport and physical activity.
The ECSS Congress ranks among the leading sport science events in the world, offering invited lectures, symposia and oral presentations, as well as workshops, satellites, poster sessions, award ceremonies and the SportEx exhibition.
The event also includes masterclasses and supports special interests groups. It's hosted and organised by the ECSS, the university and the Glasgow Visitor and Convention Bureau. The event will add £5 million to the local economy.
