Technogym awarded five-year contract at Loughborough University

Powerbase will become a Technogym Centre of Excellence
Technogym has signed a five-year contract with Loughborough University to supply its Powerbase gym on the Loughborough campus.

Powerbase is one of the largest strength and conditioning gyms in the UK. It is used by Olympians, Paralympians and athletes, as well as Loughborough elite squads, and offers training, recovery and rehabilitation facilities under one roof. It is currently undergoing a £500,000 refurbishment, that will see it become a Technogym Centre of Excellence.

The refurbished gym is expected to reopen in December and will feature over 100 Technogym training stations, including 11 Olympic Power Racks and Pure Strength plate-loaded equipment.

It will also have a designated cardio area that will feature Technogym’s EXCITE range, including treadmills, varios and bikes, as well as the SKILLMILL Connect, Technogym’s athletic performance training solution.

Steve Barton, MD at Technogym UK, says: “We are delighted to align Technogym with Loughborough University. Our partnership with the world’s best sporting university is a testament to our continued commitment to elite sport at all levels. We look forward to seeing some of the UK’s best athletes using our equipment at Powerbase.”

Jo Simpson, commercial director at Loughborough University, says: “We are proud to be entering a partnership as Technogym’s Centre of Excellence. Looking to the future this unified partnership is designed to develop the next level of athletic performance and consolidate our position at the pinnacle of global sport.”
